Partnerships
Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. brings an impressive array of skills to each project. But we understand that the participation of all stakeholders is essential to overall project success. We believe that extensive inclusion of and communication with all parties is a key to effective project execution.
To start this process, we develop a partnering relationship with our clients. We make sure that:
- Everyone understands the project's goals
- Communication is open and honest
- Value engineering and creative alternatives remain a major consideration
- Fairness to all parties is part of any issue resolution process
Our partnerships program includes teaming with the regulators who check for project adequacy and accuracy. This includes working with inspectors who are responsible for technical acceptability of a project, the health and safety officials who protect our workers and the public, and the environmental protection agencies that work with us to minimize any impacts our projects could have on air and water quality.
Balfour Beatty Infrastructure incorporates outreach programs and community involvement, when necessary, to address any impacts on the community. We invite local leaders and citizens to visit with us, gain an understanding of the projects and voice any concerns they may have about our activities.
At the project level, Balfour Beatty Infrastructure works to incorporate suppliers and subcontractors into our partnerships program. Applying these principles of openness and fairness to suppliers ensures timely, quality completion and long-term relationships that promote future success.
To broaden our geographic reach and technical skills, Balfour Beatty Infrastructure will sometimes enter a partnership with one or more competitors during a large or complex project. We are currently involved in major partnerships at some of the following projects:
- State Highway 130 in Texas
- Combined sewer overflow tunnel in Providence, R.I.
- Greenbush Light Rail Transit Line in Boston
